Workshop 'A Guide to Functionalities in Mesh Generator' at DHI in Hørsholm, Denmark
The Mesh Generator provides the tool for creating a flexible mesh bathymetry that is used as the bathymetric basis in the MIKE 21 & MIKE 3 FM model complex. During this three-hour, afternoon workshop you will learn about most of the functionalities available within the Mesh Generator for creating and/or modifying a mesh bathymetry. On the basis of a number of cases the optimal choice of model domain and resolution of the mesh will be discussed. The workshop is intended for current or potential users of the MIKE 21 and MIKE 3 FM modelling complex. Participants should have knowledge about numerical modelling and preferably a basic understanding of some of the MIKE FM modules. The workshop is free of charge and takes place at DHI Head Office in Hørsholm, Denmark, in the afternoon of 6 March (13:00-16:00). The workshop will be conducted in Danish. Deadline for registration for workshop: Wednesday 29 February 2012. The training course 'MIKE 21/3 FLOW MODEL FM - Hydrodynamic modelling using flexible mesh' is arranged in continuation of the workshop (7 March-8 March). Clients who are interested in how to set up a hydrodynamic model using the MIKE 21/3 HD FM model (using flexible mesh bathymetry) will particularly benefit from the training. FEFLOW 6.1 Seminars in Germany, Austria and Switzerland
In 2009, the FEFLOW developers presented the new FEFLOW 6 user interface to the FEFLOW user community. With the release of FEFLOW 6.1 this summer the work will be completed. For the first time, this innovative, new user interface will cover the entire modelling workflow, from mesh generation to postprocessing. In addition, FEFLOW 6.1 comes with a couple of new, powerful features. Aimed at both existing as well as new users in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, DHI-WASY, Germany, offers a series of condensed, hands-on seminars to introduce the new user interface in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Workshop 'Agent/individual based models with ECO Lab' at DHI in Hørsholm, Denmark
Agent/individual based models describe the autonomic behaviour and states of agents, objects or individuals. These models allow to address questions that are out of the scope of traditional water quality models. Therefore, such agent/individual based models have received much attention in recent years. In this three-hour, afternoon workshop you will receive a short introduction to agent/individual based models and how to set up simple agent based models in ECO Lab and MIKE 21 FM. The workshop is intended for professionals in environmental engineering and management working with shallow inland lakes or coastal areas. You should have a background in applied water quality aspects and/or biology. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of the MIKE 21 and MIKE 3 FM modelling complex. The workshop is free of charge and takes place at DHI Head Office in Hørsholm, Denmark, in the afternoon af 19 June (13:00-16:00). The workshop will be conducted in English.
